A one rupee banknote that would appear in a more modern Hyrule. I figured if your land/country is constantly saved by
heroes that have the same taste in clothes, you might think of putting a representation of that kind of person on you money.

I made this in Photoshop from scratch with the exception of the portrait of Link and the signature of Shigeru Miyamoto.

Edit 2/16/13: I have changed the text "Federal Reserve Note" to "Royal Banknote" since it seemed more logical

This is awesome. I just saw it on Kotaku. I actually really like the decision for Link to be on the 1 rupee note. He usually wears green and the 1 rupee is green. Also Washington is on the US $1 bill and he's one of the most beloved Presidents so I don't get why people think the worth on the currency is reflective of the person on it.

SO you just help me get up for work on time. I had to jump up to check that out when I read your comment in bed. I'm amazed that I'm on such a major site. In regards to Washington: Yes. I hadn't thought of that to be honest but that is very true and what I'll be telling people from now one.

I really like how it looks though. I would love to have currency like this and I probably would save it better than I do now :)
